Abstract: An X-ray structural study of the complex compound formed by La acetate with thiourea and water [La(C2H302)3(H20)2]. SC(NI-12) 2 has been carried out. The structure is of the chain-isolated unit type. The chains of La ten-apex figures, formed by the oxygen atoms of the acetate groups and the water molecules, are created by the linking of common edges and extend along [100]. The thiourea molecules are situated between them, and interact with the La polyhedron through hydrogen bonds S... H-OH20. The bond lengths in the acetate groups and thiourea have their usual values.
